Mission & Objectives

The mission of the School of Nursing is in agreement with the University. The School of nursing is committed to educate adult learners to become competent nursing professionals who integrate Christian faith into their nursing practice.

  • Demonstrate the art and science of professional caring incorporating the professional values of the discipline of Nursing.
  • Utilize critical thinking within the practice of professional nursing.
  • Communicate effectively through the employment of listening, oral, nonverbal, and written communication skills.
  • Apply nursing knowledge and skills in providing basic preventative, therapeutic, and rehabilitative measures for the client of different ages and cultural backgrounds.
  • Carry out professional nursing care employing the technical skills necessary to deliver safe evidence-based nursing care.
  • Use information and communication technologies to care for the client and to enhance one’s own professional knowledge.
  • Evaluate therapeutic nursing care for individuals, families and aggregate groups in a dynamic, multi-faceted health care system according to accepted standards of practice.
  • Explicate the characteristics of holistic nursing practice from a Christian worldview.
  • Articulate and apply to nursing practice a Christian ethical framework that incorporates moral concepts, professional ethics, and law and respects diverse values and beliefs.
  • Develop personal goals for continued professional development and life long learning.
